Discover Healthy Skin Care

You see, the cosmetic industry is still largely unregulated. Even though we have learned that what we put on our skin is absorbed through it, enters our blood stream, lodges in our tissues and builds up in our organs. Ancient Ayurvedic practitioners knew that, but as technology and society advanced, the old ways were looked at with skepticism.

The standards for judging cosmetics should be as high as those used for judging any healthcare product, but that's not how the industry was formed. The regulations for cosmetics have always been much more lax, than those for regulating foodstuff and pharmaceuticals.

Like most industries, the cosmetic industry isn't about to change any time soon. So, if you want healthy skin care, you need to look to a different source.

Several months ago, a company that makes some of the best dietary supplements in the world launched a line of skincare products. Over the years, I have evaluated numerous anti-aging creams and lotions, primarily because most of the ingredients that are including in the products are not safe.

Not only are the ingredients in this new line safe, they have clinical research supporting their effectiveness. I began to use them, almost as soon as they were released, because I get my omega 3s and other nutritional supplements from the company. I'm not that old, but even I have noticed a difference in my skin's appearance.

Until I found these products, my healthy skin care regimen included the daily use of plain grape seed oil to moisturize my face and body. When I was young, my older sisters used baby oil, but that always left me feeling greasy.

The primary ingredient in baby oil is mineral oil, a byproduct of petroleum production. It is not similar to the oils produced by the sebaceous glands, deep beneath the skin's layers. Because of that fact, it is not absorbed. It actually clogs the pores and really provides no moisture, at all. Something that we were unaware of, when we were younger, because our only source of information was the promotional claims put out by the companies.
